EzSeer COO James Ortlieb attended Entrepreneur School 2008 at the Shaw Conference centre January 22 - 24, 2008. The event was hosted by Randy Thompson from the Alberta California Venture Channel (ACVC www.acventure.com) and Ken Gordon from TEC Edmonton. The session was also sponsored by Western Economic Diversification Canada, Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, Alberta Deal Generator, and Edmonton Economic Development Corporation.
Over the three days attendees learned how valuations are placed on high tech companies, how IP can be protected and what kinds of legal and financing strategies are available. The course also featured a presentation on sales techniques and gave insights on what "keeps investors up at nights". The highlight of the three days was the opportunity to create a 10 minute investor ready presentation and "Pitch It" to fellow classmates, instructors and mentors. Three lucky students went on to pitch their ideas to a group of Angel investors.
Overall, the quality of the presentations, the opportunity to interact with instructors and mentors, and the feedback and networking offered at Boot Camp was all real world and of the highest calibre possible. Many thanks from the EzSeer team.

This is very encouraging indeed. There is a gap that needs to be filled with respect to innovation and market ready technology. Canada has a massive potential to generate much of the world's innovation, our proximity to such a large market and our extensive and highly successful post secondary education system positions us to excel in the area of innovation. Open innovation is becoming a major driving force in markets around the world and initiatives like these will help to ensure Canada's spot as a world leader

Great post… Great info on bounce rates… I’ll have to write an entry about the same topic some day soon… Bounce rates can tell you alot…
I tend to look at the bounce rate and then look at the keywords that brought people to the site. Does the page answer the keyword question? If No then there is some work to do on that or a new more focused post.
